I can't remember who pointed me at this--I thought it was [livejournal.com profile] nancylebov, but I can't find a link on her lj.

Anyway, a surprisingly moving piece in a strange artform, courtesy of sand artist Kseniya Simonova on Ukraine's Got Talent.





I'm fairly sure that when the audience showed up to see a talent show, they weren't expecting a reenactment of the Great Patriotic War.

(according to a comment: "the words at the end are tui vsegda riadom", Russian for "you are always near", and the year, 1945.)

It wasn't me. Even though I've seen the link in a number of places (mostly recently at Alas, a Blog, I think) I've never linked to it because I knew I didn't know enough history to get the details.
