So: Tekumel
Mar. 2nd, 2005 11:09 pmI've been an admirer of M. A. R. Barker's world of Tekumel since I first encountered it thirty or so years ago in the original Empire of the Petal Throne RPG. It's a weird and wonderful mix of elements from human societies (Aztec, Deccan) which don't get as much attention in fantasy as some others I could name (Norse, Celtic, late medieval France) and a lot of brain-frying original stuff.
There's a new version of the game out. The bottom line is, is it worth getting? Is it the long-sought all-in-one intro to Tekumel? Is the game system worthwhile? Enquiring minds and all that. Let me know.
