Magesterial indictment

I've mentioned Dave Neiwert from time to time. His journal Orcinus is, unlike most blogs, filled with long, reasoned, reasonable posts about matters. No scattershot unrelated data, no quick snark; he's a serious writer worthy of serious consideration, who never descends into tedium.

He has just written a long, reasoned, reasonable post about the biggest issue facing the American public. It looks like it's two points, but it's really one:

. . .Bush's "war on terror" is an incomprehensible exercise in increasing the likelihood that high radicalized, highly motivated terrorists will again strike on American soil. A serious war on terror would begin from a recognition of the nature of the threat, with a considered response that's both flexible and comprehensive. Bush's Iraq war is none of these.

And the American public will never hear this from its mainstream media, especially not the dysfunctional, inbred family that is the Beltway press corps.

The title? The Media Revolt Manifesto. Go pay attention to it.

I'd like to read it, but the website seems to prohibit printing.

It never ceases to amaze me how difficult many blogs make it for someone to print out entries.

I'll keep trying, but not that much more.

Distrusting the newfangled technology of the Web and noticing that a lot of sites of all sorts are laid out more than 8.5 inches wide (usually with some of the interesting parts outside the printer range), I cut & paste interesting writings into Notepad (to cleanse them of HTML) and thence to Word. It works most of the time, and it did with this article.

Of course. I just wish more webmasters realized 1) that some people like to print information, and 2) not everyone uses Internet Explorer.

I can't tell you how many times I've tried to print restaurant directions, ony to find the right margin clipped too far in. What are these people thinking???
