I stupidly botched taping it, and it's not the type of show where one is resigned to skipping episodes. Drop me a comment or an e-mail if you can get me a copy. Thanks much.
Hi, Kevin. Dunno if I'm more local than grumpywitch, but I have it on DVR as well. I haven't watched it yet (and thus haven't erased it yet), so I don't know yet if the DVR fucked up, but I could easily tape it tonight.
I'm trying to download it and burn it to disc myself, but my faith in that working out is not high. I should know by this evening if I need it, and if I do, you taping it would be superb.
BTW, I hadn't realized you were on LJ, and I've just friended you.
Cool. And a big hello! I didn't know you were on LJ myself until earlier this morning, when I hopped from bobhowe to supergee to you and friended you too.
I hope your download worked. Me, I opened the TV cabinet about half an hour ago only to discover strange characters cycling across the LED display of the DVR where the time should have been. The power button would not do anything. I unplugged the power from the unit and plugged it back in. Still deader than the proverbial doornail. Not even a display of gibberish on the LED.
So I called Time-Warner and they seemed a little piqued that nothing they told me to try helped. A technician will perhaps come tomorrow. But of course, it would have to be this night of all nights that the thing dies.
So, um, I guess I could use a copy of last night's 24 too. (I don't imagine there's much hope of recovering the shows that were still on the drive, which included that and the Mormon episode of South Park and the episode of Parking Lot that I was on and hadn't save to tape yet. Grumble.)
My download did, indeed, work. My CD burner doesn't, but we will probably end up watching it on my computer rather than wait for the post office. If you'd like me to send you a copy, let me know and I'll see what we can work out.
Thanks for the offer! The Time-Warner tech is scheduled to come this afternoon. If by some miracle he can salvage the unit and the drive, I won't need to take you up on it. Otherwise I may just. I'll let you know.
As noted elsewhere in these comments, I managed to download a copy, and nellorat and I watched it today, so we don't need a tape. Thank you so much for your offer!

So if no one more local has it for you, let me know!
