After destroying two Palm Pilots within a year, I went back to a paper notebook. So far, the notebook has outlived the Palms by a factor of three or four, and I don't worry about it as much, and it's more readable. I think I am just very much old school about this stuff. Strange, because I've yet to screw up any of my cell phones, and they're pretty much the same as a PDA, vulnerabilitywise.
PDAs are much more interactive, what with all the writing on the screen and loading of software and synchronizing to your computer and stuff.
Come to think of it, a PDA is an awfully lot like an electronic rat - you'll end up having a relationship with it, and you'll mourn when it dies. Because it will. They live about as long as rats do.
I take it you're reading the "Those who would give up chocolate to purchase a little temporary safety" thread on rec.arts.sf.fandom? The name "Palm Tungsten E" seeems to be cropping up again and again.
You'd be better off starting a thread here, then , as I was mainly interested in hardware purchasing decisions in my LJ post (insofar as hardware and software can be separated when making such decisions).
