The world's biggest phallic symbol

I'm not utterly fascinated by very tall buildings, but I do find them interesting. As such, I continue to be deeply croggled by the degree to which the contest for "world's tallest building" has just been blown completely open by the Burj Dubai, a mixed-use office/apartment building which is scheduled to open for business later this year. At 818 m (approx. 2700 feet), it's almost as tall as both of the Twin Towers stacked on top of each other; its main structure is so much higher than any other building in the world that it's not even close:

Now the question is, how long until some deranged Tim McVeigh and ten of his buddies drive a plane into it in the name of restoring the fallen American empire?

I've been to Dubai twice recently, and noticed a significant height difference. There's nothing even remotely as tall anywhere near it.

So why did I think those Petronas Towers were taller than the Sears Tower? Huh.

Also, that CN Tower is totally cheating. It's impossible to look at both it and the Sears Tower in person and think they're the same kind of thing.

The spires on the Petronas Tower are considered part of its main structure instead of an add-on, which the radio towers on the Sears Tower are. The top of the spires of the Petronas are higher than the top floor of the main structure of the Sears Tower.

But yeah, it's totally cheating. The Sears Tower is obviously taller than the Petronas Towers.

I can hardly wait for the Space Elevator.
