A nightmare

I actually had this back in July but it's still very vivid, and short.

1 November 2008: George W. Bush is assassinated. President Cheney suspends elections.

Given that, sadly, the Republicans are tracking much better than anyone would have expected given the war and the failing economy, I don't think the party bosses will feel it's necessary. Unless some other surprising event happens (we can only hope) to worsen that scenario.
