Back from Florida

Just to let you know, the three of us have just returned from nearly a week in Florida for the International Conference on the Fantastic in the Arts. Despite complications that had nothing whatsoever to do with the conference itself, we had a tremendous time.

Now I've got a metric buttload of freelance work, paid and unpaid, to tackle. Makes me wish I had the easy jobload of Richard Clarke in the wake of 9/11.

The LJ Names Interrogation

Yes, I should be working. No, I'm not completely burned out.

My username is womzilla because nine years ago I needed to come up with a username in a hurry for an online chat and I came up with "wombatzilla". I had to truncate it down to eight letters, so "womzilla" it was.

My friends page is called "A Wombat's Friends and Relations" because despite the fact that it's now been co-opted by Disney, I still love the whole Winnie-the-Pooh ouvre.

My journal is called "My Life in the Bush of Wombats" because I am deeply respectful of Amos Tutola's terrifically odd novels.

My subtitle is "A Fair and Balanced Guide to All Things Womzillaish" because I changed it when Fox News ("All the Right-Wing Cant that's Fit to Repeat") was claiming that "Fair and Balanced" was their trademark.
