Civics quiz

Here's a surprisingly tough quiz about American history, governance, and economic theory which was designed to test the knowledge of high school college seniors. Sixty questions.

By "surprisingly tough", I mean, "there are actually questions on it which I wouldn't expect a high school student to be able to answer"--for instance, questions about Federal Reserve policies, the Federalist Papers, and public good theory. I got a 95%.

Correction from dhole. I would expect a college senior to know almost all of this.

It is a good test, though it's not hard to see the biases.

Yeah, some of these questions are ridiculously hard. I didn't learn jack shit about the Federal Reserve or John Locke in high school.

I got 68/70; made a dumb mistake on one of the questions, while another ("Over the past forty years, real income among American households has...") I think was arguably correct (though I'd have to look carefully at the statistics to be sure).

I hit 85%, ad disagree with the answers of one of the ones I got wrong, maybe two. (No, I don't remember now...). Not bad for 4am... I agree it's a decent test, as long as it's not the only measuring tool used.

Looking at the link, it seems like the test is aimed at college seniors, rather than high school seniors.

A few of the purely economic questions defeated me, and I got 95%. Most of the actual civics stuff was darned easy by my standards, and I could have answered them just as accurately, but with even more confidence, when I was in high school.

90% here; misremembered the date of Jamestown, missed a couple of others.
