Perhaps I should reiterate that I was praising the icon war, not the comments which started it. I have no judgement on any of the books under discussion because, like most important books, I have not read any of them.
It's an amusing conversational back-and-forth conducted completely in captioned icons, spinning off of a deliberately over-the-top insult of a recent prominent work of sf. (Specifically, Peter Watts's Blindsight, which, actually, despite my statement above, I have some reason to believe is a pretty good book. But I haven't read it, nor the books to which it is compared.)
Apologies for friendslocking, but I have (as they say) Reasons for not wanting most of my LJ to be Googleable. Let me know if you'd like to be friended.
When I saw the title of this post, I thought it was referring to the Japanese animation at http://www.xs4all.nl/~jvdkuyp/flash/see.htm that I posted about last week!
