Horse, dance, jaw, drop
Following the lj-cut is a video of Andreas Helgestrand riding Blue Hors Matine in the 2006 World Equestrian Games.
This hit the net late last year, but I only saw it today.
I know next to nothing about competitive freestyle dressage, but even without the commentary I could tell that this was an amazing performance. The commentators have the same awed tones that were used to describe Olga Korbut's 1972 performance. Translated into American sports commentary, the closest would be screaming "THE GIANTS WIN THE PENNANT!" about seventy-zillion times.
Go, watch. It's about five minutes.

You would have seen it sooner if you paid more attention to my LJ...
Isn't it *amazing*?

Yes, it is amazing. A horse like that, you don't make into a hat all at once.

Best part: Horse and rider both looked like they were having a *blast*.

Tho - maybe watching "normal" freestyle dressage first would have helped me understand just how amazing it was. Even without that tho - it was a joy. Thank you.
