No thyng hath plesed me moore, or moore esed myn wery brayne than thes joili and gentil peyntures ycleped “Cat Macroes” or “LOL Cattes.” Thes wondirful peintures aren depicciouns of animals, many of them of gret weight and girth, the which proclayme humorous messages in sum queynte dialect of Englysshe (peraventure from the North?).

Lolcats (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lolcats) are the latest internet phenomenon: pictures (usually of cats) with captions in a weird broken English full of phonetic misspellings and odd grammar. There's a dense vocabulary of recurring jokes and phrases--"Do not WANT" and "I can has?", as well as "invisible" pictures where it looks like the cat is defining the shape of an invisible object. The best source for lolcats that I know is I Can Has Cheezburger? (http://icanhascheezburger.com/), which I recommend reading from the "Last" page to the present because of the development of running gags. Lolcats were not the origin of "I'm in UR whatever, whatevering your whatever", but they definitely incorporated them.

This particular bit I quoted is more like L33T (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leet), a fake language made by substituting numerals and punctuation for letters and using some hacker-speak. The thread freely mixes Lolcat, L33T, text messaging, and other sources. ("All your base are belong to us" shows up frequently.)
