Quick update, plus games for sale
Jun. 5th, 2007 10:14 pmThose of you who read
nellorat's journal will have seen this post about recent turmoil in our lives--the continuing story of the collapsed wall, money being tight because of a combination of lulls in employment and high vet bills. I did some prodigal spending in the wake of the big bonus I got in February, but mostly what's hammering us is unprecedented amounts of vet bills--three different girls with aggressive, recurrent tumors, not all benign.
But today had its definite good parts. We cleaned the house somewhat, making two major rooms (the living room and kitchen) far less craptastic, and, more importantly, I spent most of the day (home from work) building a sizable bookcase for
nellorat's downstairs office, a.k.a. the dining room. With this additional bookcase space, she might actually be able to reclaim the room from its driftpiles of test prep boosk which have overwhelmed it for so long. We also built a new DVD case for our living room to help manage our unruly collection.
Oh, and speaking of books, or books made of books,
crowleycrow's Endless Things is, like, da bomb. Less than ten pages into it, I was crying in public over Axel Moffet's trip to the 1939 World's Fair. The world is always ending, everywhere for everyone.
And speaking of money, I spent most of Memorial Day weekend and another several hours this past weekend finishing my catalog of games for sale, to which I have added about 100 items since the last time I posted it. This includes my first round of deep cuts--games that were hard to let go--but I've simply overflowed my containers.
