Wow. Thanks for the kind words, and spreading these ideas to another audience! Your commentary is thought provoking, along with your previous essay, "Going to the wells beyond the world too often." This deserves a longer essay, since it's clear the problem goes beyond confusion of continuity. The problem seems to be an endless recycling of characters, and the fake deaths, clones, parallel universes, etc. are just a symptom of that.
