I knew there was something else I wanted to post about Japan

Utterly brilliant informational display to help one get the faintest sense of the devastation: before-and-after satellite photos of the main affected areas, with a sliding bar to move from one to the other in the same space.

Also, I am reminded by [livejournal.com profile] thetalkingmoose that James Morrow's utterly brilliant short-short story "Apologue" is available free as part of the September 11 special issue of NYRSF. It's a New York story, but it seems apposite now.
