Danish championship rabbit jumping. No, really. What really impresses me is the way that the race obviously does *not* come naturally for the rabbits, but the jumping does.
Does this count as the pathetic phallacy?
And in regards NPR firing Juan Williams: Good riddance to bad garbage. Williams's book for Eyes on the Prize was a great accomplishment, but the 25 years since then have been a demonstration that the Brain Eater is not limited to science fiction writers. Someone on one of the many blogs I read referred to Williams as an "ossified spouter of the Beltway Received Wisdom"; his purpose on Fox has always been to give an "even-the-liberal" figleaf of coverage of both sides of an issue--the right-wing and the far-right-wing, and his work on NPR has been equally bad for as long as I've been aware of him.
