Science fiction film: a rule of thumb
May. 30th, 2009 02:11 pmIt seems to me that the greater the percentage of the action of a science fiction film or TV show that is set on a human-built spaceship, the greater the chance of the film being fundamentally stupid--and not just in ways relating to the spaceship itself.
Oh, I can think of counterexamples, as I'm sure you can too. But still, it seems like a useful rubric.
