Artificial Stupidity, Today's edition
Feb. 6th, 2006 10:32 pmFor a discussion on rasff, I was I trying to find a detail about the murders committed by "the I-5 Killer", a serial killer who, in the early 1980s, drove up and down Interstate 5 raping and murdering women. (I had vaguely remembered that he wore a police uniform during at least one of his killings, but it seems he didn't.)
Anyway, I couldn't remember his name, so I hied myself off to Google and searched "i-5 killer". I was treated to an ad which read:
I 5 Killer

Then, following the first link, to Amazon's listing for Ann Rule's The I-5 Killer. There I was treated to the possibility of searching inside the book--the book in question apparently being Finite and Infinite Games. Which indicates that the Amazon mind has less pleasant ideas of "play" than I care to comtemplate.
