Thanks to lavendertook, a discussion of charities which are and are not front groups for Christian "dominionism" (i.e., theocrats):

Surprisingly negative discussion of the Salivation Army, which I had not known had threatened to abandon municipalities which required them to minister to gays.

Note that this is not a secular or anti-Christian list; of the top six charities on Sunfell's "good" list, three are run by Christian churches. It's looking beyond the label to find the churches which follow Jesus the Healer and which follow Christ the Emperor.

How sure are you of the dependability of this blogger? I give to the Salvation Army *because* they are one of the few charities who work with boy prostitutes.

My understanding is that this is very much specific to certain chapters, or whatever they are called, within the Salvation Army; one certainly never sees anything remotely like theocratic noxiousness from them in Britain.
